Cold Water DOG

Marty and I are sorry we could not attend the DOG last Sunday at Hardee Lakes.  Stew was good enough to send me this message and some photos and his recipes.  Debbie, I hope you are recovering from your fall and will be up and running soon.

"Well we had the smallest group I ever have participated in.  It seems everyone had other things to do.

Debbie Barber was going to be there, but that morning fell and broke her leg.  She has been in the hospital for the last 2 days, not sure when she gets out and if she will even be able to go home due to lack of mobility.

Participating were Dave and Vicki. . . . .and me.  We did have 2 guests show up.  Vicki’s dad was visiting them, so he came as well and made his first Dutch oven item – the chocolate brownies – which were great!

We had a beautiful day, our site was right on one of the lakes, under the pines – wonderful.  It was breezy, but warm.

We served, as we always do, at 4PM and were out by dusk."

Please join us for our Presidential DOG  February 24, 2013.
We will gather about noon at a pavilion at Paynes Creek Historic State Park, which is located one-half mile southeast of Bowling Green on Lake Branch Road.  Here is a link to the park for more information:            http://www.floridastateparks.org/paynescreek/
